Kent Many journalism graduates leave Carleton dreaming of success, adventure and worldwide recognition. Through his 30 year career, Arthur Kent (B.J./75), found it all.

When asked about Carleton’s role in preparing him for a life of reporting from such locations as the Persian Gulf, Afghanistan, Bosnia and Tiananmen Square, Kent says his time at Carleton “not only filled my head with dreams and big ideas, but gave me the energy and confidence to try and make some of them come true.”

After graduating from Carleton, Kent set out on a career specializing in solo assignments, later playing a role in large network news teams. Highlights during his career include back-to-back Emmy Awards for NBC’s 1989 coverage of the Tiananmen Square massacre and the Romanian uprising. During the 1991 Persian Gulf War, Kent reported the first-ever live coverage of missile versus anti-missile warfare. Today, he heads his own production company, Fast Forward Films, based in the United Kingdom.
